Understanding Your Path to Natural Harmony

Welcome to the Nirayamam FAQ. We understand you have questions about Ayurveda and our holistic therapies. Our goal is to provide clarity and empower you to move forward with confidence toward Vibrant Health, Naturally.
What is Ayurveda, and how is it different from modern medicine?
Ayurveda is the 5,000-year-old science of life from India. Unlike modern medicine which often treats symptoms, Ayurveda seeks to address the root cause of imbalance by treating you as a unique individual based on your Dosha (mind-body constitution). We aim for holistic balance, not just the absence of disease.
What is a 'Dosha,' and why is it important?
A Dosha is your unique energy blueprint, combining the five elements into three primary forces: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Understanding your dominant Dosha (and any current imbalances) is the foundation of Ayurvedic care, as it dictates your personalized diet, lifestyle, and treatment plan.
What happens during an Initial Ayurvedic Consultation?
Your first consultation is a deep dive into your health history, diet, and lifestyle. Our practitioners use traditional diagnostic tools like pulse, tongue, and physical examination (Ashtavidha Pariksha) to accurately determine your Dosha and craft a customized wellness plan for you.
Do I need to be sick to benefit from Ayurveda?
Absolutely not. The primary goal of Ayurveda is Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam—to preserve the health of the healthy. We focus on preventative care and building upon your existing well-being to promote longevity, vitality, and optimal mental clarity.
Is Panchakarma the only treatment you offer?
No. While Panchakarma (deep detoxification) is a powerful, time-tested therapy for serious imbalances, we offer a wide range of services including specialized Abhyanga (massage), Shirodhara, herbal recommendations, and targeted nutritional guidance, all tailored to your specific needs.
